This car is one of my all-time favorite color schemes for a competition Daytona, and was thrilled to see it in the flesh at Cavallino Classic in 2010. This is serial number 15667, and was delivered to Charles Pozzi SA in Paris, this car earned the Tour de France title in 1972 driven by Jean-Claude Andruet and “Bichie”, before it won it’s class (5th OA) in the 24h Le Mans, Jean-Claude Andruet, Claude Ballot-Lena and Francois Migault, 1000km Paris (10th OA, 4th IC) Jean-Claude Andruet, Claude Ballot-Lena, in 1973 Dolhem and Serpaggi finished 9th OA, 3rd IC in the 24h Le Mans race. Grand Sport Corvettes

In 1963 GM secretly commissioned five lightweight Corvettes for road racing. Known as the Grand Sport Corvettes, they have all survived, though they rarely appear together. In 2003 the Amelia Island Concours featured the Corvette and all the Grand Sports were there. I was able to get good photos of all five, and they appear below. It has one of the pretties engines I’ve ever seen, and it’s replicated really well in the Accurate Miniatures 1/24 model. Images copyright © Mike Hanson, all rights reserved, used with permission.

Porsche 956

Porsche 956 are pretty rare in the USA, because of the IMSA rules for how the front end is set up (on the 956 the driver’s legs are very close to the front). The 962 was developed to accommodate those rules so those cars are much more common here. This Iseki Tractor car is one of the few 956’s I’ve been able to capture.
